Too Late — Artist’s Note

TOO LATE

Some feelings don’t fade.
They get locked.

This artwork holds the moment you finally reach for what you kept inside —
and realize there is no one left to receive it.

The distance here is not only between two bodies.
It is between two times:
when touch was possible,
and when it is no longer allowed.

You called it caution.
You called it pride.
You called it “later.”
And then later arrived — without them.

The lock is not protection.
It is delay.

You carried it.
You postponed it.
And when you were ready to open it —
it was too late to touch.

ARTIST’S NOTE
I didn’t draw a breakup.
I drew what remains after silence.

The face on the left is time.
The figure on the right is absence.
Between them: a lock without a key —
not because it can’t be opened,
because the moment has already passed.

You didn’t lose the feeling.
You lost the moment.
And the lock stayed in your hands.
